The Hikari Japan Festival takes place on 07 and 08 August 2027.

Where does the NATSU Hikari Japan Festival take place?+

You'll find us at the Wilhelm Studios, Kopenhagener Str. 60-68, 13407 Berlin.

When does the NATSU Hikari Japan Festival open?+

The event runs from 09:00 to 22:00.

Is there an age limit?+

Yes. The event is open to visitors aged 14 and over. Visitors under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Will the festival also take place in other cities? Unfortunately I don't live nearby.+

Yes, more cities are planned for the future.

Where can I buy tickets?+

Tickets are available online exclusively via our website.

Can I also buy tickets on site?+

Depending on availability, there will be a box office where you can buy a ticket on site.

Can I return or pass on tickets?+

Tickets are generally non-refundable. However, tickets are not personalised and can be passed on. Please note that each ticket is valid for one entry only — once it has been scanned at the door it cannot be used again.

Do I need to print my ticket?+

No, a digital ticket on your smartphone is enough.

Are there different ticket categories?+

There are several ticket categories, plus workshops and the Anime Secret Concert, which you can add on. Full terms are in our ticket overview.

Are there VIP tickets?+

Yes! With our VIP ticket you get access to an exclusive VIP area overlooking the entire market hall. The ticket also includes: - standard ticket - free entry to the Secret Anime Dreamlight Concert in the evening - an exclusive goodie bag

Are there group tickets?+

No, unfortunately we don't offer group tickets. However, we do offer kids' tickets.

Is cosplay allowed?+

Yes! Cosplay is more than welcome at the NATSU Hikari Japan Festival. We can't wait to see your costumes.

Are cosplay props allowed?+

Yes, as long as they are harmless.

Are there changing rooms for cosplayers?+

No.

What's on the programme?+

Alongside workshops, talks, food trucks and vendor stalls, we also offer a varied stage programme on the NATSU HIKARI Stage, concerts in the evening and community events.

Is there live music?+

Yes! Throughout the day, our stage in the market hall hosts a varied programme that also includes musical performances. The highlight of the evening is our Secret Anime Dreamlight Concert (ticket holders only).

Will there be a gaming area?+

No.

Which workshops & talks are offered?+

From the voice-acting workshop to Japanese crash courses and sake tastings, our Workshop & Experience programme offers something for everyone. You'll find all the information on registration and tickets in our Workshop & Experience overview.

Do I need to register for workshops & experiences?+

Yes. An additional ticket is required to take part in a workshop or experience.

How long do the workshops & experiences last?+

The duration varies per workshop and can be found in each description.

Is there a programme for children?+

We offer child-friendly, creative workshops.

Which vendors will be on site?+

At the festival you can expect a huge range of vendors and artists with everything from Japanese art, design and crafts to collectibles and pop culture.

Can I apply as a vendor?+

Yes. If you'd like a stall, email us a short application at hikari@dreamlight-labs.com telling us what you sell. We'll then send you the terms and everything else you need to know.

When do stall applications open?+

Applications for stalls are open now.

Is there food & drink at the festival?+

Yes. The festival will feature a selection of different food trucks and food stalls. The culinary offering focuses in particular on Japanese cuisine, including popular street-food specialities and traditional dishes from Japan.

Are there vegetarian or vegan options?+

Yes, several food trucks have vegetarian and vegan options.

Can I bring my own food & drinks?+

Bringing your own food and drinks onto the festival grounds is unfortunately not permitted.

Are weapons allowed?+

No, weapons of any kind are prohibited.

Are there security checks at the entrance?+

Yes, bag checks take place in the entrance area. Please make sure you are not carrying any of the following items: - weapons of any kind - knives or other sharp objects - pepper spray or similar irritants - pyrotechnics or fireworks - glass bottles - your own food and drinks - dangerous or realistic-looking cosplay props We reserve the right to prohibit further items not listed here if necessary for safety reasons.

What happens if the rules are broken?+

If the festival rules are broken, we reserve the right to remove visitors from the site.

Will the festival be photographed or filmed?+

Yes. Photo and video recordings are made during the event for documentation and marketing purposes. The resulting material may be used on our website and social media, in press material and in future event announcements. By entering the event grounds, you consent to photo and video recordings being made and published.

Is the festival family-friendly?+

Yes.

Do children need their own ticket?+

Children under 4 get in free and don't need their own ticket. Children aged 4 to 14 need a discounted ticket. Visitors aged 14 and over need a regular ticket. You'll find more information in the ticket shop.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?+

The venue is generally wheelchair accessible. If you have questions or special requirements, feel free to contact us in advance. Please note, however, that the VIP area is unfortunately not accessible.

Are there accessible toilets?+

Yes.

Is there a cloakroom?+

No.

Is there Wi-Fi on site?+

No.

Are there lockers?+

No.

Can I bring animals?+

Animals are unfortunately not allowed on the festival grounds. Assistance and guide dogs are of course exempt. Please have the relevant proof for assistance dogs ready.

Will there be seating?+

Yes. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors.

Can I apply to volunteer?+

Yes! If you'd like to join our team and support us at the Hikari Japan Festival, feel free to apply by email at hikari@dreamlight-labs.com.

Are there sponsor stands?+

Is there medical assistance on site?+

Yes. Trained staff are on site for emergencies during the event.
